ALLERGY/ INTOLERANCE TESTING
Care Cure Acupuncture Offers an extensive intolerance test which measures the sensitivity of up to 110 food items, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, food additives, colouring and preservatives. We also include a test for dust mites, pollen and animal hair.
An intolerance usually occurs when we eat too much of one particular food like wheat, potatoes or cheese. In Ireland, a country known for damp wet weather, our bodies find it difficult to digest wet grains like wheat as the digestive system is not hot enough. This is seen when Irish people go on holiday to countries like Italy and amazingly have their intolerance to wheat disappeared.

The allergy test is conducted by snipping a small strand of hair – this allows us to conduct our test and it makes no difference to the results whether you dye your hair or not. Then we have a short questionnaire which is sent with the hair to our labs for analysis. Within 5-10 working days we will have your results and call you to check if you would like to discuss them or prefer to have them posted to your address. If you would like to talk to someone about available substitutes we can arrange for someone to call you and give you advice on your results.
Your intolerances are colour coded as follows:
Red High Intolerance (to be avoided for 6 months to 12 months)
Orange Medium Intolerance (to be avoided for 3-6 months)
Yellow Low Intolerance (to be avoided for up to 3 months or if necessary the substance can be taken in small does twice or three times a week).
Green Vitamins/Minerals (lacking in the diet.)
The Allergy Test costs €60 for the full service.
We also offer free Consultations in the clinic if you feel there is a more serious problem. These are conducted using tongue and pulse diagnosis and can highlight underlining digestion, respiratory, skin and stomach issues.
