Allergy Testing at Care Cure Acupuncture Galway City, Loughrea, Tuam, Dun Laoghaire & Longford
An allergy intolerance
is an acute sensitivity to an otherwise harmless substance, which the immune
system confuses with a dangerous infection thereby releasing a surge of
histamine, which causes allergic symptoms.
At Care Cure we conduct an extensive intolerance test, which measures the sensitivity of up to 110 food items, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, food additives, colouring and preservatives. In addition to this the test also checks for dust mites, pollen and animal hair.
At Care Cure we conduct an extensive intolerance test, which measures the sensitivity of up to 110 food items, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, food additives, colouring and preservatives. In addition to this the test also checks for dust mites, pollen and animal hair.
We conduct the test by
taking a strand of hair, which contains your DNA and it makes no difference to
the results if you dye your hair or not. Next the hair is posted to our labs
for a complete analysis and the results are sent back to us within 5-10 working
days. At this stage we will give the person a call and discuss results over the
phone or ask them to come in and talk to us. Results can be emailed or posted
depending on preference.
The results are colour
coded with red being the most dangerous high intolerance (to be avoided for 6
months to 12 months), orange being medium intolerance (to be avoided for 3-6
months) and yellow being a slight intolerance (to be avoided for up to 3 months
or if necessary the substance can be taken in small does twice or three times a
week). Green is the colour code depicting vitamins, minerals and substitutes
that are lacking in the diet.
Substitution can be
difficult for items such as wheat and dairy. To make it easier for you to avoid
intolerances we have added on a free service where you can ask to be called by
our nutrition expert who will explain in detail what substitutes are available
and make out individual lists of substitute foods.
Test costs €60 and are
conducted in the clinic. We also require the customer to fill in a form on the
day.
We also offer free
Consultations in the clinic if you feel there is a more serious problem. These
are conducted using tongue and pulse diagnosis and can highlight underlining digestion,
respiratory, skin and stomach issues.
